Ranthambore Tiger Reserve is situated 14 Kms from Sawai Madhopur. This tiger reserve is situated amidst the Aravalis and the Vindhya ranges surrounded by vast tracts of desert ecology of Rajasthan. It speads over an area of 392sq. kms. Rajbag, Padam Talab and Malik Talab Lakes are a paradise for wildlife and are full of Lotus and Nymphaeas. The Herbivorous animals include blue bull, sambhar, chinkara and cheetal, Sambhar deer is the pride of the park. The tiger is the biggest attraction of the park. Ranthambore is considered one of the best parks in the country to see and observe the tiger. Camivore in the park include the Leopard, Ratel, Caracle, jungle Cat, Fox and Jackal. The park has more than 300 varieties of birds. open from October to June.

Ranthambore Fort is located in the heart of Ranthambore National Park. The history of Sawai Madhopur revolves around the Ranthambore Fort. It was built in 944 A.D. The fort was so strong and inaccessible that even rulers of Delhi and Agra found it a challenge.This great fort remanants of monuments, ponds and lakes. A number of places inside are of historical interest namely Toran Dwar. Mahadeo Chhatri, Samantion ki Haveli, 32 pillared Chhatri, a mosque and the Lord Ganesha temple, Of these the Ganesha temple holds a major attraction for visitors.
